Manca Thumbs Installation Instructions

  SAFETY FIRST! Use all necessary gloves, safety glasses etc.

  1. Position excavator arm and boom as shown in diagram below.

  2. Curl bucket all the way in.  On some machines, a bucket stop may be needed.

  3. Thumb with hydraulic cylinder and/or stiff arm thumb should be assembled in its retracted position.

  4. Slide assembled thumb down excavator arm leaving 2" between bucket teeth and thumb tines.

  5. Use welder at 250 amps or greater.  Depending on machine size, you may need to weld multiple passes. 

 *Be sure to clean all grease and paint where thumb is to be welded. Use 7018 rod or equivalent.

 *For warranty purposes, abuse and improper auxiliary hydraulic pressure (max pressure 2200 psi) will automatically void warranty.
